Understand solar before you spend a cent on it.
Going solar in South Africa is confusing. Quotes vary wildly, the jargon is thick — kWp, kVA, kWh, depth of discharge — and it's hard to tell whether you're being sold the right system or just the biggest one.
SunService makes trust visible: our feed aggregates the region's best-reviewed installers — company, city, people's rating, website and pricing where available — from public customer reviews, so the installers the people actually trust are all in one place. We don't accept payment for placement.
Our free sizing tool starts from your own electricity usage and gives you an honest, indicative sense of the system size you'd need — so you walk into installer conversations already knowing roughly what's reasonable.
We're upfront about how it works: SunService SA is free. When you ask for quotes, we share your details with NanoLeap, who matches you with vetted installers. You're never obligated to buy anything.
A note on accuracy
Our estimates use conservative South African averages and your inputs — they are a starting point, not a quote or an engineering design. Your actual system depends on your roof, your loads and a site assessment. Every fixed installation legally needs an electrical Certificate of Compliance (CoC), and grid-tied systems must be registered with your municipality or Eskom (SSEG). Always use a qualified installer.
